Province appoints two more to animal care board

The Ontario government has appointed two more women to the Animal Care Review Board which deals with complaints about how officials have seized animals and issued orders to owners.

The two are Nicole Gajraj of Owen Sound and Alisa Chaplick of North York.

That brings the board membership up 22, most of them lawyers.

Gajraj has worked with the Centre for Forensic Sciences, conducted investigations for the Law Society of Ontario, has served as an expert witness and has been an instructor at the Ontario Police College.

Chaplick is a lawyer who is vice-chair of the Discipline Committee of the Home Construction Regulatory Authority, a member of two committees for Professional Engineers of Ontario, the discipline committee of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants, a member of the City of Toronto’s Dog Review Tribunal.
