Four more TB quarantines lifted

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has lifted four more premises from its quarantines related to the discovery of tuberculosis in Alberta.

That increases the total of released premises to 34 which have 11,000 cattle.

So far the disease has been found only on 18 premises all under one ownership. The CFIA has slaughtered 10,500 of its cattle after six were confirmed as diseased.

Forty premises with about 7,000 cattle remain under quarantine. It may be late this year before all of them are cleared following the return of herds from pasture.
