South
West Ontario Veterinary Services has moved into a new 14,000-sqaure-foot
building in Stratford to consolidate its operations in one place.
It has
also added poultry to its swine specialty with the addition of Dr. Ben
Schlegel.
The
company is headed by Dr. Doug MacDougald who has been a leader in Ontario’s swine
industry, spear-heading initiatives to stop the spread of Porcine Epidemic
Diarrhea (PED) virus, to generate regions free of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory
Syndrome (PRRS), to establish disease surveillance networks and to create and
strengthen industry organizations, such as the Ontario Pork Council and the
Ontario Swine Health Advisory Board.
