Marketplace reported that Subway’s chicken was, in fact,
only half chicken and the rest was other ingredients.
CBC said it was surprised by the initial results, so called
for a second test that it says yielded the same results.
But Subway hired two labs to conduct tests that showed its
chicken was about 95 per cent chicken and the rest was spices and breading.
In its statement of claim, Subway accuses Marketplace of
being reckless and not taking enough care in its investigating and reporting.
Neither the claims by Subway nor CBC Marketplace have yet
been tested in court.
