Ontario Premier
Kathleen Wynne and Agriculture Minister Jeff Leal issued a joint statement on
the weekend supporting dairy farmers in the face of criticisms from United
States President Donald Trump.
So what took them so long?
They issued a statement which said “our government continues to strongly
support the integrity of Canada’s supply-management system, both nationally and
in Ontario, which has served producers, processors and consumers well for
almost half a century.”
They drew
attention to the volume of trade between Ontario and key dairy states,
including Wisconsin and New York.
