Flour recall expands again

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded its flour recall again, this time to pie shells coming from Country Pantry Bulk Foods of Heidelberg in the Waterloo Region.

The expansion also includes cookie doughs from In-Dey-Go Fundraising Inc.

The pie-shell recalls from Country Pantry are mainly from hotels, restaurants and institutions and were marketed under the Apple Valley and Mildmay Cheese Haus brand names.

This recall is nation-wide, surprising for a relatively small operation in the middle of Mennonite territory.

The concern is potential contamination with E. coli 0121 bacteria that can cause food poisoning.
Most of the recalls trace to Robin Hood multi-purpose flour from Ardent Mills.

There have been regular expansions since the original one March 28.
