Beyond Meat, once the leading company in the boom in plant protein products that imitate meats, continues to dive deeper into financial trouble.
Its third-quarter losses more than tripled the previous year’s third quarter and amounted to US$119.7 million.
It also stopped production in China.
Sales were 13.3 per cent lower than a year ago.
Maple Leaf Foods, a major investor in the sector, is hiding its plant protein sales and losses figures by lumping them in with its processed meats division financials.
