Loblaws said its third-quarter sales and profits increased again, led by its discount-priced banners No Frills, Superstore and Maxi.
Its results come after Statistics Canada reported that food price inflation continues to outpace overall inflation.
Loblaws revenues increased by 4.6 per cent to $19.4-billion in the quarter ended Oct. 4.
Loblaw’s net earnings available to common shareholders were $794-million compared with $777 million for the same quarter last year.
