More avian flu cases detected

Several more cases of avian influenza have been detected in wild fowl in Ontario.

One is a wild goose in Ottawa, another a redhead duck in Kingston and a red-breasted merganser in Point Pelee National Park.


Three commercial turkey flocks have been hit, placed under quarantine and euthanized – at Thamesford, in North Waterloo Region and in Wellington County.


Two backyard flocks on an Indian Reserve north of Wiarton have been infected.
