Those who want to make more ethanol have filed a lawsuit
against the Environmental Protection Agency, claiming it has no right to reduce
the legislated goal for ethanol by two billion gallons.
On the other side, the National Chicken Council said the new
goal the EPA approved in November is too high, mainly because it’s higher than
the original EPA proposal.
Seven associations joined to file the lawsuit. They are the
Biotechnology Innovation Organization, Americans for Clean Energy, American
Coalition for Ethanol, Growth Energy, National Corn Growers Association,
National Sorghum Producers and the Renewable Fuels Association.
