India opens market to Canadian pork

India has opened its markets to imports of Canadian pork, effective immediately.

Canadians are likely to sell about $2 million worth of pork this year and to increase sales in subsequent years.

“We have been working with the Government of Canada for many years to gain access to this market which offers great potential for the export of a wide range of pork products,” said Jacques Pomerleau, president of Canada Pork International.

+Canadian producers that manufacture value-added pork products will also benefit from this new market in the future,” he said.
