Potash Corp. shutters N.B. mine

Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan is shuttering its mine in New Brunswick and laying off 420 to 430 workers.

The company says it’s making the move because potash prices are low and this mine has higher production costs than its mines in Saskatchewan.

The closure is not permanent.
