Mary Jean McFall, a lawyer, daughter of Joe Hudson who founded Burnbrae Farms nad controls Canada's largest egg-farming, egg-grading and egg-processing empire, and a failed candidate for the Liberals, faces a list of curbs on her usefulness as the chief of staff for the federal agriculture minister.
She can't deal with any issues involving Burnbrae Farms, the national and Ontario egg marketing boards and the Canadian Egg and Poultry Processors Council.
Nor can she deal with any issues relating to the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal.
The curbs were placed on her by the federal Ethics Commissioner.d
So if she's excluded from so much the federal agriculture minister handles, will her salary be reduced to reflect her limited role and usefulness?
And, beyond what she knows about the egg industry, what does she really know about Canadian agriculture politics and policy? Just asking.
