Quebec police arrest animal activists

Quebec police arrested 11 animal activists who invaded a hog farm near Ste. Hyacinthe to call for an end to hog farming.

They are scheduled to appear in court later to answer to trespassing charges.

That is in contrast to Ontario where police have done nothing but watch as animal activists invaded poultry, dairy and hog farms.

Now Ontario is in the process of passing legislation to make such trespassing and underground video-taping illegal.

One of the Quebec 11 animal rights activists said the group will continue to push the Quebec and Canadian governments to end “industrial” pork production.

Phaneuf called for a meeting with Quebec Premier Francois Legault to discuss the issue.
