Yanti Gan who was a researcher at the federal agriculture department’s facility at Swift Current is free after a judge has ruled that it took too long to pursue charges laid by the RCMP in November, 2019.
The charges were laid after a 21-month investigation into Gan’s dual role with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and with Gansu Agricultural University in China.
He was scheduled to face trial beginning May 1
