You read it here long ago, but it's big news across Canada today that the World Trade Organization (WTO) has ruled that the Country of Origin Labeling regulations adopted by the United States violate its obligations under the WTO.
The WTO panel report agrees with Mexican and Canadian complaints that this set of COOL regulations is, in fact, worse than the original ones that were long ago ruled in violation of world trade standards.
So what will the almighty U.S., Congress and the administration of Barack Obama do now?
Judging from the past, as little as possible, if anything at all.
