Manitoba has five PED cases

Manitoba says it has had five premises test positive for Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus, but all are now testing negative.

Not much has been said about PED in provinces other than Ontario where the government announces every discovery at a farm, identifying them by county and type of hog operation, such as farrow-to-finish or nursery.

Ontario has had 85 cases during the last two years, the most recent one Dec. 2 at a farrow-to-finish operation in Lambton County, which is the Sarnia area.
