Boost for ag. startups

The federal and Ontario agriculture departments are offering help to start-up companies from a new $100,000 funding commitment.

Ontario Agri-Food Technologies us getting the money “to design and launch a pilot project called the Commercial Deal Accelerator. 

“This project will connect early-stage agribusinesses that have innovative ideas, with corporate investors to create commercialization activity,” said a news release.

Ontario Agri-Food Technologies has helped about 2,500 entrepreneurs so far.

It was one of the most exciting ventures when Dr. Gordon Surgeonor was in charge.
