U.S. poised to approve trade deal

The United States Senate could vote to approve the trade deal among Canada, Mexico and the U.S. as early as this Friday.

Chuck Grassley, a Republican from Iowa who heads the Senate’s Finance Committee may have the bill ready soon and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell could put it to a vote Friday.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has yet to announce a timetable for Parliament to debate approval of the deal.
