OMAFRA changes meat inspection

Meat inspectors for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs will be cutting back this year.

The ministry said in a year-end news release that it will be eliminating overlap with public health units.

It will also be focusing its efforts on a risk basis, which probably means those with a chequered track record will be inspected more frequently and those with clean records less often.
