Another cow infected with bird flu

Samples collected from a dairy cow in Oklahoma in April have been found to contain highly-pathogenic avian influenza.

Oklahoma becomes the 13th state to have found the virus in a dairy cow and the 157th cow infected with the virus that is deadly to poultry, nearly harmless to people and mild in cattle.

Testing has now found that the virus can pass among cows via the air and to calves via milk from infected dams.
