Five rabies cases in Ontario bats

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency tallied five bats infected with rabies during June.

No other species were infected.

It brings Ontario’s total to 12 this year, all of them bats.

Nationally there were two rabid arctic foxes, 18 bats, one dog and three skunks for a total of 24, which means Ontario bats accounted for a half of them.
