Dr. Lloyd Weber dead at 80


 

Dr. Lloyd Weber, a well-known and respected poultry veterinarian and large-scale chicken farmer, has died. He was 80.


He was born in Carrick Township, Wellington County, educated at Formosa and Ontario Veterinary College and served the poultry industry for 53 years.


He received many awards including Ontario Poultry Industry Council Health Worker of the Year and Award of Merit, the Ontario Agriculture College University of Guelph Outstanding Service Award in recognition of contributions to research, teaching, and extension programs and the Turkey Farmers of Ontario Recognition for Outstanding Service. 


He was also nominated for the Poultry Service Industry Award for Lifetime Achievement in Poultry and the Canadian Poultry Research Network Hall of Fame. 



He continued to practice until 2022

A celebration of life will be held at the arboretum, University of Guelph, on Thursday, August 8th, from 2:00-5:00 p.m.
