The 39,000-bird flock is in Stearns County under the
wildfowl flyway, so ducks or geese are presumed to be the source of the
outbreak.
Avian influenza has been identified in
Arkansas, California, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, Oregon, Utah
and Washington.
That has cut off U.S. poultry exports
to about 40 nations.
Canada’s trade bans are limited to
poultry from the states where the avian influenza has been identified.
