A farrow-to-wean operation in Elgin has been infected with
Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus.
It is the 78th farm in Ontario to be infected,
but only the second this month.
A year ago there were far more outbreaks. Since then farmers,
truckers and others who travel among hog farms have apparently heeded calls for
improved biosecurity.
