It might be an April Fool’s joke, but there might be some
red faces on April 1 among those appointed to a list of agencies that report to
Ontario Agriculture Minister Jeff Leal.
That’s when the ministry will begin posting expenses claimed
by a long list of appointees to various boards and commissions.
It’s part of the government’s promise to become more
transparent, explains a note for each agency listed on the Ontario Ministry of
Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ website.
That includes:
The Agricultural Research Institute of Ontario
Agricorp
The OMAFRA Appeal Tribunal
The Business Risk Management Review Committee
The Grain Financial Protection Board
The Livestock Financial Protection Board
The Livestock Medicines Advisory Board
The Normal Farm Practices Protection Board
The Ontario Farm Products Marketing Council
The Rural Economic Development Advisory Board
