The Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission has passed
regulations to create a separate organization for veal producers.
It is also changing the beef marketing act to remove veal
from his authority.
The new organization, Veal Farmers of Ontario, will have the
power to licence producers, to collect fees to fund its operations and to
gather information.
It will not have the power to limit production or to take
over marketing.
Its powers take effect April 1.
