Costco and Sobeys are recalling chicken salads because they
may be contaminated with Lysteria food-poisoning bacteria.
Costco is recalling its Kirkland brand roasted chicken salad
distributed nation-wide.
Sobeys is recalling its chicken, mandarin and cobb salads from stores across Western Canada.
Lysteria is the same bacteria that in 2008 claimed 22 lives
of consumers of luncheon meats from the Maple Leaf Foods Ltd. plant on Bartor
Road, Toronto.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says there have been no
illnesses reported in association with these products.
