Organic Meadow has asked for more time to re-organize under the Cooperative Creditors Arrangement Act, but I think it's a hopeless case.
It has never been a well-run farm business, mainly because successive general managers didn't know much about the agriculture and food business.
The general managers seem to have fared a lot better than cooperative members. But isn't that often the case with our modern corporate culture?
One thing that certainly seems strange is the cooperative blaming the Dairy Farmers of Ontario marketing board for its woes. It wants the board to cut it some more slack.
Come on! The marketing board has been looking out for coop members a whole lot better than the coop.
