The online project they were recognized for was an “Ask Me
Anything” (AMA) session on the interactive website Reddit staged in November,
called “Temple Grandin Talk to Reddit — Now Most Popular Science AMA. Ever.”
“Communications is a rapidly changing and fascinating
business, and I am proud of … our team at Colorado State,” said Tom Milligan,
vice president for External Relations at CSU.
“Clearly, Professor Grandin is a global thought leader, and
our social media team shared her and our university with the world through this
award-winning effort.”
Grandin’s Reddit AMA became the most popular and
highest-rated session in Reddit’s Science section, receiving nearly 4,200 votes
and generating more than 1,300 comments.
The Reddit session dealt with autism. Grandin, who is a
leading researcher in animal welfare,
has learned to cope with her autism.
