Daynard chosen to head Farm & Food Care

Kelly Daynard has been confirmed as executive director of Farm & Food Care Ontario after serving as the interim executive director since January.

She has been with the organization since 2005 and has been manager of communications since 2012.

Farm & Food Care Ontario is a merger between organizations trying to improve the public’s perception of crop farmers and their use of pesticides and genetically-modified seeds, and of livestock and poultry farmers’ stewardship regarding welfare.

“The board of directors is unanimous in its decision to hire Kelly to lead Farm & Food Care Ontario,” said board chairman Brian Gilroy.

“She has a strong knowledge of the agricultural industry and is well known and well respected by members, staff and industry stakeholders.

“Over the years, she has consistently demonstrated her commitment to this organization and its mandate and has led the development of many of our award winning initiatives,” he said.
