Larry Martin, an agricultural economist who pioneered the development of Canada’s first independent agriculture-policy think tank, the George Morris Centre at Guelph, has been chosen for the Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame.
He will be inducted during the Royal Agricultural Fair in Toronto this fall.
Former agriculture minister Gerry Ritz has also been chosen from more that a dozen nominees.
Also joining this year will be agricultural business leader Ted Bilyea, cranberry farmer and business man Peter Dhillon, plant scientist Wilf Keller.
