Moving detained meat leads to fine

Kevin Doyle and his Country Premium Sausage company have both been fined because he moved some meat that Ontario government inspectors ordered him not to move.

He was fined $1,000 plus a $125 victim surcharge and his company was fined $1,500 and a victim surcharge of $375 in court in Thunder Bay.

Meat inspectors found wild game touching meat when they were in the plant last November.

They placed detention tags on the meats and ordered Doyle not to move anything until they could test samples to determine if there had been cross contamination. Doyle admitted he moved the meat.
