Perth County calf has rabies


A calf in Perth County has tested positive for rabies.It’s the sixth calf to be stricken by the virus in the last three years.
The calf is believed to have been bitten by a rabid wild animal, possibly a skunk or fox.
The Perth District Health Unit said the calf is under veterinary care, that the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in involved and that the cattle are under confinement at the farm in Mornington Township.
