Komoka freed from AI quarantine

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has lifted the quarantine zone around Komoka that was put in place on April 5 to control the spread of highly pathogenic avian influenza.

That leaves six quarantine zones in Ontario. Forty-one quarantine zones have been lifted.

Nationally there are 41 ongoing quarantine zones and 281 have been lifted. A total of 7,668,000 birds have either died of the virus or been euthanized to prevent the disease from spreading.
