Port workers vote to strike

Union members voted more than 99 per cent in favour of strike action to back their negotiators bargaining with west coast port authorities.

If there is a strike, no grain will move out of Vancouver or Prince Rupert and Seattle is not an option because its also closed by a protest by union members.

The strike threat arises as news came that Vancouver ranks as one of the world's least efficient for handling containers.
