Another cheese recall

La Vache à Maillotte brand Mélo-Dieux – Surface-ripened soft cheese is being recalled due to Listeria monocytogenes food-poisoning bacteria.

It is the second Quebec-based surface-ripened cheese to be put under recall within several days, in both cases for Listeria monocytogenes.

The company recalled Le Cendre de Notre-Dame semi-soft surface-ripened cheese when it discovered the bacteria itself. The Canadian Food inspection Agency’s tested revealed the bacteria on La Vache a Maillotte’s product.
