Maple Leaf Foods and its Maple Leaf Centre for Food Security plan to fund four $15,000 scholarships.
The scholarships will also help recognize past chairs of the company’s board of directors.
Winning candidates will need to have strong academic records be pursuing research that aligns with the Centre’s goal to structurally reduce food insecurity.
The research will need to be feasible, methodologically rigorous, and contribute to the body of knowledge on food insecurity in Canada.
