Vilsack to return as U.S. Agriculture Secretary

President-elect Joe Biden has picked Tom Vilsack to return as U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, the post the former Iowa governor held in President Barack Obama’s administration.

Canadians may remember him as tough on the dairy industry’s supply management system and import restrictions.

After Donald Trump became president, Vilsack was hired to be the chief executive of the U.S. Dairy Export Council and actively campaigned for Biden in farm states.
