A dozen rabid bats

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency reports that there were 12 cases of rabies in Ontario in October, all of them bats.

The data does not include one rabid skunk recently identified in the Waterloo Region.

Ontario remains the hot-spot in Canada; only one case each was confirmed during October in British Columbia, Saskatchewan (both bats) and the Nunavut Territory.(a red fox).
