Six HPAI outbreaks on one day

British Columbia’s poultry industry suffered six outbreaks of highly-pathogenic avian influenza on one day.

On Tuesday the Canadian Food Inspection Agency set up quarantine zones around commercial poultry operations in the District of Kent, Fraser Valley Regional District, three in the city of Chlliwack and one in Abbotsford.

There have been 19 other outbreaks in the province since the beginning of October.

There have been six in Alberta in that same period.
