There’s a new sow slaughter plant at Moose Jaw, Sask., the first new hog-slaughtering facility in Canada in two decades.
North 29 Foods Ltd. bought a beef plant from JBS/XL Foods and has converted it into a state-of-the-art hog slaughter plant.
It will be able to handle 225,000 sows per year that are going to plants in the United States.
