Farms.com snaps up Small Farm Canada

Farms.com of Guelph and Ames, Iowa, has bought Small Farm Canada from Southern Tip Publishing of British Columbia.

Tom Henry is the founder and editor of the publication that has a nation-wide audience.

Farms.com said it intends to keep the writers who contribute to the publication.

The deal includes the Service Truck publication that launched in 2013. Small Farm Canada was begun in 2004.

Farms.com also owns Better Farming for Ontario and another for the Prairies and Better Pork. It bought them from journalists who took over when the Ontario Federation of Agriculture abandoned its newspaper.

I wrote for Small Farm Canada, mostly when it was starting and not recently, and like Tom Henry. I have never written for Farms.com.
