Third avian flu outbreak in York Region

A third outbreak of highly-pathogenic avian influenza has broken out in York Region, this time in a commercial flock, reports the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

As is normal with outbreaks, the CFIA established a 10-kilometre quarantine zone.

Birds and poultry products and by-products can only be moved out of that zone by obtaining a special permit from the CFIA.
