Another price-fixing settlement

Seaboard Foods agreed to pay two classes of pork buyers nearly $15 million to settle claims it was involved in a conspiracy with other producers to fix pork prices dating back to 2009.

Seaboard reached a $4.96 million settlement with Commercial and Institutional Indirect Purchaser Plaintiffs (CIIPPs).

The CIIPPs have already secured settlements with JBS, Smithfield and Hormel, bringing total relief to more than $59 million.

Seaboard agreed to pay another $10 million to settle with The Consumer Indirect Purchaser Plaintiffs.

Their total compensation rose to $109.465 million in settlements with Hormel Foods for $4,465 million and $20 million with JBS USA Food Company and its affiliates, and $75 million with Smithfield Foods.
