Farmers are optimistic

A survey of farmers indicates they are optimistic, report researchers at Purdue University and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

All three broad-based measures of farmer sentiment improved in July.

The overall index moved up eight points to 113.

The index of current conditions was up by 10 points to 100 and the index of future expectations rose seven points to 119.

July’s sentiment improved despite declines for corn and soybean prices.
