Silk “milk” sickens 20, kills three

The toll among consumers of Silk brand plant-based milk imitation products has risen to 20 sick and three deaths, reports the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Silk and Great Value, sold at Walmart stores, were contaminated with listeria monocytogenes food-poisoning bacteria.

They were made from coconuts, almonds and oats at an unnamed facility in Ontario which produced them for Danone, a global dairy processing company.

The sick people are in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Alberta.
