Twelve Ontario bats had rabies


 

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency reports that 12 bats in Ontario were found in July to be infected with rabies.


There were 175 tests conducted.


The July tally increases Ontario’s total for the year so far to 24 rabid bats. No other species were found to be infected.


The national total is 42 of which 36 were bats.
